Date: Mon, 18 Oct 1999 08:38:32 -0400 From: Dan Jacobs Subject: WebTech/NEJUG Thurs 10/21 5:30 at Sun in Burlington Hi everybody. This month, WebTech will be joining the New England Java Users Group (NEJUG) for a joint meeting on Thursday, October 21, at Sun Microsystems in Burlington MA. The meeting begins at 5:30, but traffic-snagged stragglers need not worry about arriving late! The meeting, originally scheduled by NEJUG for September, but rained out by the hurricane, will focus on XML. Bill Wood from Progress Software will be speaking on XML. His agenda will be as follows: - XML (general) - XML Programming - For Java (i.e. DOM) - For IE5 (XML data islands) - XML for Data - XML and Standards Along with Bill Wood will also be David Cleary who is Progress' representative to the XML-SCHEMA working group for the W3C. This is our first collaborative meeting with NEJUG, and I'm sure it will serve the local community of internet and Java developers well. See their website at http://www.nejug.org for more information. I look forward to seeing you at Sun on Thursday. ------------------------------ Dan Jacobs, President Tech Tonic Netsystems email: djacobs@ttonic.com Burlington, MA voice: (781) 273-5825, (781) 273-0231 Java Consulting fax: (781) 273-5825 Object-Oriented Software Engineering Chairman Boston ACM WebTech Group: http://www.acm.org/chapters/webtech
