Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 13:22:49 -0400 From: Donna Rae Subject: Access Day - 10/20/99 Hello Everyone- This Wednesday, October 20th is Access Day and Pat Tormey is BACK for an all day Access marathon! The program, which starts at 9 AM and goes until 8:30 PM, will have something useful for all skill levels. As usual, it will be at the Microsoft Building in Waltham, MA. Attendance is free and no reservations are required. For more information call Rick at 978-749-9600 or visit www.lunasystems.com. Here's what the day looks like: (times are approximate and may change without notice) 9 AM - 12 PM Intro Session Your host will be: Pat Tormey of Four Square tormey@foursquare.com "Everything you ever wanted to know about Access" We will focus on what each of the Access tabs do. Walking from Table & design to Queries Forms reports and maybe even do a little programming with Modules. . . Drop by and find out why we're not talking about the Macros (they are evil). Questions are encouraged. 1 PM - 4 PM Intermediate Session Your host will be: Pat Tormey of Four Square tormey@foursquare.com This session will hit "Queries for Fun and Profit". Discover the real power of Access. Queries to join tables, Look up Zip codes, calculate results from multiple fields, bulk updates and deletes. . . from simple to complex. If time allows we may venture into Sql 7.0 for Access users. . . It's easier than you think! 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM User Group Meeting The evening user group is devoted to the presentation of topics and ideas for the experienced developer. Nothing is more professionally valuable than seeing how others have addressed the solution of a problem, and networking with other professionals. For about the first 1/2 hour or so you are invited to ask Access related questions. 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Jackie Grubb of Plum Suite Solutions Accounting packages cannot handle many of the practices that businesses find necessary to their success. MS Access running in tandem with a good accounting package offers an ideal solution. On occasion Access and other stand alone software team up to make a formidable team. Jackie reports on an Access and Peachtree solution which run side by side, connected via a third party piece from Multiware, Inc. called PAWet. With Access, a highly customized solution to a difficult inventory problem was created. Jackie's collaboration partner, Bob Traupe of Simplex Management Systems, from the Peachtree side, will be on hand to answer any questions from his side of the solution. Hope to see you there! If you have any questions about this or other User Group Meetings, call Rick at Luna Systems Corporation or visit our website at http://www.lunasystems.com. Have a great day!
