Date: Sat, 8 May 1999 12:11:29 -0400 (EDT) From: Mary Hopkins Subject: MEETING 5/11/99, 7:30 The next meeting of Boston Voice Users will be on Tuesday, May 11, 7:30 PM, in MIT room 2-135 (directions below). Topic: WORKPLACE ISSUES. What's it like to use voice in the workplace? How do you deal with: administrators, office mates, machine requirements, privacy issues, job interviews, the urge to swear loudly at Dragon (or maybe I'm the only person who ever does this - MH), Web-based work resources, exams ... Our presenters will be Bruno Leung, the first person in the Harvard Library system to use voice, and David Fox, who's a grad student and thus a representative of a large segment of the Boston workforce. Attempts to find a programmer or tech writer as a 3rd presenter have thus far not worked out. If you would like to join the presentation in this capacity, please do! Email me in advance if you have time (mhopkins@fas.harvard.edu). Apologies for the very late notice! MH Directions to room: Go in the main door of MIT, at 77 Mass. Ave. Go straight down the Infinite Corridor for as long as you can. When forced to turn, go right. You'll pass one intersection decorated with murals of jungle animals, hallway to library on your left, stairs on your right. 2-135 is a couple of doors further along on the left. For wheelchair access: use the door at 33 Mass Ave, toward the River from the main door. There's a lift here. Please feel free to cross-post this message.
