Date: Tue, 9 Mar 1999 13:51:53 -0500 From: Dan Jacobs Subject: WebTech meeting Tuesday March 16 at Sun Burlington Hi everybody, I'd like to invite everyone to our upcoming meeting on Tuesday, March 16, at Sun Microsystems' new campus in Burlington, MA. DON'T GO TO WALTHAM THIS TIME! The meeting is at Sun in Burlington. This month's meeting will feature a presentation by Ken Arnold on Jini(tm) technology. Ken is one of the key designers of Java, Java RMI, JavaSpaces(tm) and now Jini(tm), and this is sure to be a terrific and thought provoking presentation. The Jini(tm) technology is designed to make it easy to deploy and use services in a network. When you plug a service into a network it just works -- no drivers to install. This talk will cover the Jini architecture, what it does, and how it does it. More information about Jini is available at http://www.sun.com/jini/ on the 'net. Directions to Sun's Burlington campus are available on the website (see URL below). It's on Route 62 between Route 3 and Middlesex Tnpk, across from Mitre, and about 1 mile north of the Burlington Mall. Hope to see you there! ------------------------------ Dan Jacobs, President Tech Tonic Netsystems Burlington, MA Java Consulting Object-Oriented Software Engineering email: djacobs@ttonic.com voice: (781) 273-5825, (781) 273-0231 Chairman Boston ACM WebTech Group: http://www.acm.org/chapters/webtech
