Yes, WebTech does continue through the summer, and this month the meeting will be on Tuesday, June 15, 7pm, at the IBM SPC in Waltham. I'll do my best to see that the air conditioning system will be working! This month, the 3rd Tuesday coincides with JavaOne, which means that all the really good speakers will be away, so that leaves just me to talk about Java Servlets and Design Patterns. My talk will focus on the problems likely to be encountered in building a large complex dynamic website, and how the application of design patterns can help to bring the intertial stabilizers back online. I'll be addressing such issues as user registration, personalization, session tracking, object database and relational database connectivity, various kinds of template technologies, and even a little bit about E-commerce. It's OK if you you're not an expert in Java or Servlets. Design patterns seem to apply just about everywhere. Hope to see you there, ------------------------------ Dan Jacobs, President Tech Tonic Netsystems email: djacobs@ttonic.com Burlington, MA voice: (781) 273-5825, (781) 273-0231 Java Consulting Object-Oriented Software Engineering Chairman Boston ACM WebTech Group: http://www.acm.org/chapters/webtech
