Date: Mon, 21 Jun 1999 01:56:59 -0400 From: Arnold Bilansky <71533.1031@compuserve.com> Subject: June Fox meeting & Job Listings The next meeting of the Greater Boston FoxPro User Group is at 7:00pm on Wednesday, June 23, at Microsoft, 6th floor, 230 Third Ave., Waltham MA. Last month, a traffic accident on the way to our meeting prevented our speaker from presenting. We are back on track this month with the topic originally scheduled for May. Guy Pardoe presents "Strategies for Supporting Multiple Back-ends". Guy discusses design issues pertaining to building VFP apps which must support SQL Server, Oracle, or VFP back-ends at the flip of a switch. He also demonstrates use of the VFP ODBC driver. -Arnold The following are excerpted from e-mail messages I received over the last few weeks. No endorsements are implied. ----------------------------------- Sender: Robert.Mello@bti.com I am a developer who has just completed a VFP project for a small software company with international distribution in Norwell. The project generates 20-30k a year annually at $100/hour. (200-300 hours). Because of my commitments to my current employer, I can no longer support the product, and I'm looking for a firm or individual in the Boston area who may be interested in this kind of work. Does your user group maintain a bulletin board or a referral service which could help me find such a firm? - Rob Robert J.
