Next Wednesday, July 14, 1999 Daniel Webster College is hosting the program from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. We will be meeting in the Davis Laboratory on the second floor of the Learning Center Building. Main Presentations 6:30 - 7:30 PM Feature creep is perhaps the primary reason that 80% of software projects do not reach completion - a statistic that the industry is improving upon through adoption of certain tactics and strategies. Rick Lunetta of Luna Systems Corporation will present a tutorial titled "The Fifteen Steps in Application Development" as applied to Access database application. His firm is currently applying this methodology to the development of multi-tier enterprise-level projects consisting of dozens of man-years. Coding in such an environment can be a relatively small part of the entire project. 7:30 - 8:30 PM Jim Connell develops MS Access and Excel applications for a variety of Fortune 1000 clients. He will present the critical design issues relating to the mining of a large employee dataset using MS Access, where emphasis will be on design concepts that must be used as size increases. Included will be the tactics and strategies used to solve problems relationg to data integrity, data location, response time, and various client-specific issues.
