Date: Tue, 5 Jan 1999 18:08:09 -0500 (EST) From: Mary Hopkins Subject: MEETING 1/12/99 Boston Voice Users will be meeting Tuesday, January 12, at 7:30 p.m. at MIT. ROOM CHANGE: we'll be in 2-139, which is next door to our usual room. Directions at end of message. This meeting will be devoted to an introductory demo of several speech recognition systems, presented by Peter Fleming. Peter will demonstrate and compare some aspects of different systems, including IBM, Dragon, L&H (formerly Kurzweil) and Philips, as well as talking about hand held recorders and microphones. Questions, discussion, and audience contributions will be encouraged. If the meeting ends early enough and if enough people are interested, we may eat together afterwards. DIRECTIONS: Go in the main door of MIT, which is at 77 Mass Ave. Go straight down the "Infinite Corridor" until you can't go any further, then turn right. You'll pass one hallway on the left. The intersection has a mural of jungle animals. Room 2-139 is the third room after the jungle, on the left side of the hall. If you need a wheelchair accessible entrance to the building, go to 33 Mass Ave, toward the River from the main door. There's a lift at this door. Please feel free to cross-post this message.
