Date: Tue, 23 Nov 1999 16:38:14 -0500 From: Jeff Foust Subject: Web-Net Meeting Tues Dec 14 -- E-Company Valuations Hello, While it's still two weeks until the next Web-Net meeting, we wanted to let you know about this meeting in advance because it's on a topic that's sure to be of interest to nearly everyone: "e-company" valuations, or figuring how just how much Internet companies are worth. We have three speakers who will provide their own first-hand insights on this topic: * Web-Net's own Sudha Jamthe will offer an overview of Internet company valuations, compare how they are different from traditional companies, and share her experience and interviews of people buying and selling e-companies; * Tim Rowe, CEO of Cambridge Incubator Inc. (http://www.cambridgeincubator.com/) will talk about incubators and how they help entrepreneurs increase their company valuation; * Malay Kundu, co-founder of Invino Inc., will share his experience of valuation of his startup as he sold it for $9 million dollars to a large corporation. This meeting will be held Tuesday, December 14, at 7:00 pm in building E51, room 345, in the Sloan School on the MIT campus, just a short walk from the Kendall/MIT stop on the Red Line and with plenty of free parking available. As always, the meeting is free and open to all. For more information about the meeting, visit the Web--Net site at http://www.web-net.org, or contact Sudha at sudha@web-net.org. We hope to see you on Tuesday the 14th to learn more about e-company valuations! Jeff Foust jfoust@mit.edu
