From: Gail Kahn Subject: December PUF Meeting Announcement Date: Monday, November 29, 1999 8:53 AM Paradox User's Forum Date and Time: Monday, December 6, 6:45 PM Meeting Topic: "Internet Features of Paradox 9 and the jPdox Web Utilities" by Bob Spector, Acadia Software Description: Recent versions of Paradox included some intriguing Internet-related capabilities. There are the simple abilities to publish forms, tables, and reports to HTML. There is a web server which can be embedded in a Paradox form, with which developers can create data-driven web applications entirely within Paradox. There is the ability to publish reports dynamically to the Web. With Paradox 9, Corel has added a suite of tools which allow expanded access to Paradox data for Internet or Web-based applications. These aren't, strictly speaking, part of Paradox at all: they are new ways to use the Borland Database Engine to share data over the Internet. They include a Web Form designer which gives users live, editable, remote access to data. We'll have a look at these new features and discuss how they're best used. Meeting Location: New Horizons Computer Learning Center, 5 Old Concord Road, Burlington, MA [Directions: Take Exit 32B on Route 128.
