Here’s what’s up for the night: (times are approximate and subject to change) 5:30 - 6:30 PM: Q&A Bring your knowledge and your questions to this session. It will be helpful for all. 6:30 - 8:30 PM: Program New Methods for Getting Data into Access. Tonight's program will review some of the latest capabilities of the 3M Palm Pilot. Bob Young, of Summit Computing Associates, will demonstrate some trial work he is doing for a fuel oil dealer, which allows delivery information to be input into a Palm. On return to the home office, the press of a button brings the information directly into an MS Access table where standard database reduction can be applied. Third party software enables construction of pop-up lists, sub-forms, and a variety of other features quickly and easily. Other case studies will be reviewed including a medical application. The PC-based application is an MS Access 97 application, whose forms, queries and tables are all programmatically generated. Rick Lunetta, of Luna Systems Corporation, will demonstrate these techniques, and discuss the various applications his firm has done to exploit these concepts to advantage.
