Haughwout Borys & Jim Borys To: cone@tarnhelm.blu.org Subject: *CONE* macwoburn meeting announcements Date: Wednesday, September 16, 1998 4:19 PM Hi folks, I've been busy with the creation of MacWoburn, demoing the iMac and trying to stay in business, especially because my husband just got laid off (;(( I would be most grateful if you could post the following meeting announcement in as many places as you can possibly think of. Once you do that, drop me a line and I'll have a better idea of where I should send these announcements. Thanks a bunch, P.A.M. Dear Educator, As another school year begins, the challenge for incorporating computer technology in the classroom continues. MacWoburn is a new user group designed to meet the unique needs of educators, students, and their parents. All levels of computer users are welcome and will find these meetings helpful. This is not a gathering of geeks but a group of people who want to provide information and share tips. The first meeting will be held on September 23rd at 7pm at St. Charles School in Woburn. We will meet in the Upper Building’s computer lab on the 2nd floor. All MacWoburn meetings will be held at this site. September 23 meeting topic: "What is a computer, anyway?" Join us as Ian Blanton disassembles a computer. You’ll be able to take a look at the inside of a computer and learn how everything actually works. If you suffer from any kind of computer anxiety, you will find this session will demystify computers and reduce your stress level. October 28 meeting: "An Educator's Guide to the Internet." The Internet is a valuable resource for educators. At this meeting, P.A.M. Borys will discuss some sites and give tips on how to browse the web effectively. Have you found any worthwhile materials?
