From: jbueche@enertex.com Subject: FYI: NE DOMINO & NOTES SIG * Wed Oct 14 * 7 PM * Date: Thursday, October 08, 1998 8:51 PM NEW ENGLAND NOTES & DOMINO SIG Meetings held at IBM's Waltham Office IBM Solution Partnership Center - East 404 Wyman Street (NORTH Entrance) Waltham, MA Wednesday, October 14, 1998 7:00 - 9:15PM NEW HOURS This month one of our members has stepped forward and has created a spectacular "JavaScript with Notes" demonstration for our pleasure and edification! This month we will not have an "early speaker" and instead begin 7:00 pm. I am sure that you, like myself, are looking forward to seeing how Javascript can be used to enhance a Notes-driven web application. Below is the description of our October 14 session: When developing a Notes application for the web, Notes Formula language and LotusScript only run when a form is opened, closed, or during a special round-trip to the server via agents. In a web browser, you need JavaScript to provide the interactivity you are accustomed to in the Notes Client. Rick Levin, Senior New Media Developer for Synaptic Communications, Inc., http://www.synap.com , will show us how to integrate JavaScript into a Notes form, do field-level validation from a web browser, detect browser versions, do rollovers and animations, work with frames, and more! The demonstration database will be made available after the meeting. AGENDA 6:30 WELCOME -- General Announcements 7:15 LOOKING AHEAD -- Upcoming speakers and organizational updates 7:30 PRESENTATION -- "JavaScript" Presented by Rick Levin, Synaptic Communications, Inc, http://www.synap.com 8:30 CLINIC - Q&A -- Bring your Lotus Notes questions and we'll share answers and problems. 9:15 ADJOURNMENT NOTE**** Meetings are held on the SECOND WEDNESDAY of the month!
