DiskJockey is a file manager and file viewer/player combination for Win 95/98/NT that supplements or replaces Windows Explorer. Tony will discount DiskJockey at the meeting: the Standard version to $24.95, the Professional to $49.95. Also see their web site http://www.clear-simple.com. We have an update on status of Office 97 Service release 2, a review of PowerQuest's DriveImage by Mike Newcomb and, probably, another product review by one of our members. Location: Microsoft's Multipurpose Room, 6th floor, 230 Third Ave, Waltham, MA, which has Parking and has Wheelchair access. Directions: Take Route 128/95 to Exit 27A. What's so Active about ActiveX? Helder Machado from Microsoft tells us what makes these electrifying. Helder, Consultant and Systems Engineer, has been working with Microsoft customers helping them plan for growth in Internet and eCommerce technologies. Dynamic HTML is the set of features that provide the client-side intelligence and flexibility to enable HTML authors to create interactive pages that dynamically change the display and/or content of a page entirely on the client machine. ActiveX is a marketing name for a set of Component Object Model (COM) technologies and services for user interface "widgets". We chose these topics from a menu at our August 98 meeting. ****** Future Event ****** Saturday, November 14, 1998, 1pm, Special Event ---------------------------------------------- Microsoft eXtreme #3 Satellite Broadcast ======================================== In-depth Preview of Office 2000 and other Products ************************************************* This is again being sponsored locally by BWUG - see below.
