The March 10 meeting will feature a panel discussion -- "Head for the Web" -- with three Internet experts talking about the latest news, products, and trends on the Web. The panel includes: * Nikki Granner, general manager of Web-Staff, will talk about a recent survey about IS staffing. Web-Staff is a division of MacTemps, Inc. providing employment services for Internet professionals in 16 cities worldwide. Nikki has a background in strategy consulting, having worked for over five years at the Boston Consulting Group. She has a B.A. in economics from Kenyon College and an MBA from Harvard. * Skip Green of Interactive Learning Technologies (GTE Internetworking) will help decipher some of the jargon that surrounds the Web industry and discuss new evolving technologies and products. Skip also teaches Web Production Management at Emerson College. * Marianne Cooley, president of NetHorizons Unlimited, will provide the latest on making the Web work for you, including news on the status of the proposed new top-level domains. NetHorizons Unlimited is a marketing consulting practice that helps provide organizations with strategic thought and tactical support for their business plans. Marianne previously spent 13 years in sales and marketing for Motorola Information Systems Group and is also currently president of SigNet.org and director of the Boston area's Internet Special Interest Group. She was named as one of 1997's Top 25 Wired Women by Boston Webgrrls. She has a B.A. from Wellesley College and an MBA from Simmons College Graduate School of Management. This meeting is not intended simply as a series of talks but an interactive discussion on some of the key Web and Internet-related issues of the day, so be sure to bring plenty of questions! We'll also provide updates on Web-Net's projects, including our new interactiove book review section and the contact database. The meeting will be held at 6:30pm Tuesday, March 10.
