Lernout & Hauspie released their Voice Xpress products in April. Peter Flemings, a independent consultant and writer in speech recognition, demonstrates and compares them with Dragon Systems' NaturallySpeaking and IBM's ViaVoice, which he showed us earlier. Voice Express, in addition to recognizing continuous (as distinct from discrete) speech introduces a Natural Language command set. That means greater flexibility in giving the program verbal commands, easing the user's learning process.
