Date: Mon, 1 Jun 1998 17:10:29 -0400 From: JB Subject: NESOFTDEV June 9 TIME: 7:00 -8:30 P.M. PLACE: Cafeteria at Prospect Place **** 1st Floor **** LOCATION: 9 Hillside Ave., Waltham exit 27a RT 128 TOPIC: State of the Industry 7:30 p.m. The founder of NESOFTDEV will give the first annual "State of the Industry" 9th anniversary and are more than ever a vibrant force in the software industry. And, we wouldn't be so "alive" now without an intimate sense of our industry. Come refresh your views of the events that are shaping our industry, what the future looks like and what it will take to remain successful. We enjoy this leadership position. Let's keep it up. 8:00 p.m. Help shape the 1998-1999 season. We will determine the themes and topics we want for the 1998-1999 Sept-June season. Why was the May meeting so successful? Sure the topic is of central importance to you as a software developer. Sure the speakers were absolutely terrific. But, the real reason is that the meeting come from you. James Gosling, the Father of Java, gave us Ken Arnold and Sun's perspective. Stephen Daukas, a member outstanding gave us Andrew Watson and the OMG view. Reed Shilts, from the Component Software days, gave us his view of COM. Stan Rydell, Mister Behind-The-Scenes, made sure it all happened. And, then you, the best group of people I have had the pleasure to work with -- that is who really made the meeting great. So, stay involved; make it happen one more time! ****************************************************************************** Particulars: 2nd Tuesday of each month, September-June, 9 Hillside Ave, Waltham, MA, Exit 27a, Route 128 (95), Third Ave, left after the Westin Hotel, then go right, right, right to 1st Floor Cafeteria, 5:30 p.m. More: John Barrie (508) 829 2181, johnbarrie@compuserve.com, www.btdnet.com/NESOFTDEV ********************************************************************************
