ActiveX Developers SIG, Monday, January 19, Bedford ---------------------------------------------------------------- ReplyTo: John Watson Paul Pelski Date: Monday, January 19th Matthew Thornton Health Plan 43 Constitution Drive Bedford, NH Join John and your host Paul Pelski for an examination of one of today's hottest technologies - ActiveX. Says John: I have an idea for a track of several sessions encompassing several months beginning in January. I'd like to develop a three-tier application for tracking people. It can be used for managing members of a user group or customers, or employees or whatever else comes to mind. One month we can set up the backend database and build an ActiveX server DLL which will access the data and deliver it up to clients. The next month we can build a traditional form-based application which uses the business object. The month after that we can build some ActiveX controls which do the same thing but can be used by both the forms and a browser. The idea is that we can all work through the design issues and learn together. However, I don't want to hog the entire meeting so I'm looking for a co-presenter for each month. Doesn't have to be fancy or long (30-45 minutes). Drop a line with some ideas you'd like to see. Paul Pelski (mailto://PelskiP@mthp.com)of Matthew Thornton Health Plan has graciously orchestrated meeting space at MTHP's Bedford offices. Directions: For those of you coming from the south, take 93N to 293N, go past the Mall of NH on your left, continue over the Merrimac River and stay to the left heading towards Rte. 114/101W. At the 5-way intersection with the lights, turn left (as though you are heading on 101 West towards Milford). Constitution Drive is on the left at the very next set of lights (500 feet), behind the Bedford Police/Fire station. For those coming from other directions, head for 101West out of Manchester towards Milford. Here's a small map: 4.
