Jim served in the U.S. Army as a Patriot Missile officer before joining Raytheon in Tewksbury, Massachusetts in 1990 where he specialized in embedded systems development. Jim later worked for Avid Technology as an engineer and I.S. manager before entering the contractor workforce in 1997. He currently is working with Adaptec Inc. in Nashua. Jim earned his Masters of Software Engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992 while studying at the Software Engineering Institute, with a focus of his efforts placed on software inspections. Following his return from graduate school, he taught Software Engineering to evening students at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. Jim is married to Laura, his wife of 5 years, and they live in Brookline, NH. Jim is an instrument-rated private pilot. Directions to Adaptec: From Northern NH: Take 93S to 293 to Everett Turnpike South.   Get off at Exit 8 in Nashua.   See below for directions from here From Massachusetts: Take Route 3 North.  Get off at Exit 8.  At exit 8: Take a left at the 2nd light where you see the large Crowne Plaza Sign on your left (Kessler Farm Dr.).   When you get to the end of this short road, you will see a redbrick building almost directly in front of you (slightly left of center) with the Adaptec sign on it (hard to see it in the dark).   Pull in the lot and park.  Walk between the two buildings, and enter the one on the left.  Inside you will see signs leading you upstairs to Adaptec (an elevator is also available if needed).  Please do not wander around in the building.
