Wonder what all the hype about 4G LTE is? Want to scratch the surface of what this new generation of mobile network technology can provide to the user and enterprise? This evening's presentation will give a glimpse of some of the "under the hood" aspects of the latest generation of mobile network technologies including: Brief history of the G force (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G) What is 4G - definitions and major features, services and capabilities Focus on 4G LTE - brief zoom through the network architecture(s) Some thoughts on what this means for the user experience What is coming for future iterations of 4G LTE as seen from the standards Is 5G real? The Speaker Greg Schumacher is a member of Sprint's Global Standards team with a focus on core network standards currently working on 3GPP and ATIS standards involving service definition, security, and pubic safety related features. He has been participating in various standards groups for the past 15 years including: IEEE, WiMAX Forum, IETF, CTIA, GSMA, 3GPP, 3GPP2, OMA, TIA, ATIS, ETSI, ITU-T taking him to 30 different countries so far. Where? We will be meeting at New England Rehabilitation Hospital on 2 Rehabilitation Way in Woburn, MA in the NE room near the cafeteria.
