Date: Oct 10/01/12 6:40 PM Subject: BNUG October 2nd Meeting Notice *** The Next Evolution in BYOD From: "Steve Isenberg" Boston Network Users Group Monthly General Meeting ** Tuesday – October 2nd - 6:30-9:00PM ** THIS MONTH: Bring Your Own Device - The Next Evolution Please join us on Tuesday, October 2nd at 6:30PM for a presentation on a new development to increase productivity. We will be meeting at New England Rehabilitation Hospital on 2 Rehabilitation Way in Woburn, MA in the NE room near the cafeteria. The receptionist can point you in the right direction. Bring Your Own Device - "BYOD" - is the next evolutionary (or, really, revolutionary) development to increase productivity. It poses great opportunity to offer employees, users and other stakeholders access to necessary assets from any device, anywhere. It also poses great security challenges and requires an enormous amount of diligent thought and system planning to implement properly. The Accunet Solutions team understands the "whole-system" implications -- helping clients to understand how networks move information before designing a solution to meet each one's specific objections and business goals -- on time and on budget. Dave Henry, Virtualization Practice Lead and Sr. Systems Engineer with Accunet Solutions, has spent his entire career in IT -- starting as the UNIX System Admin for MIT's Project Athena in the 1980s. After that, he worked to hone his skills in various other data centers doing systems administration, programming, automation, and security work, move management and managed services consulting. While at EMC, Dave became the community manager of the "Everything VMware at EMC" online community, a role he continues today. Recently awarded the VMware vExpert designation, Dave Henry blogs at geekfluent.com and tweets as @davemhenry. Michael Dimitruk, Sr. Account Manager with Accunet Solutions, is a senior executive with more than 30 years of experience -- always at the forefront with leading-edge technologies. Having been a part of the industry evolution -- from mainframe, personal computer, LAN/WAN, Internet, client-server networking and the ongoing development of today's complex software, Mike has the experience to know how to navigate the tough challenges of each new wave. * Refreshments are served from 6:30 pm. Meeting starts at 7:00pm with the technical presentation concluding by 9:00 pm. * BNUG monthly meetings, membership and refreshments are always FREE and you are not required to be a member to attend.
