About 6 months ago, I started my first Silverlight 4 project for a paying customer. I had a vague understanding of Silverlight (I knew about ViewModel and that was about it) and along the way, I ran in to a handful of gotchas and I've made more than a handful of mistakes. When I started I really needed someone to point out the perils, pitfalls, and potholes. This is the presentation I needed to see. In this talk, I'll show you the basics of ViewModel as also how to - Make your UI look halfway decent - Make async WCF calls and still do something useful - Implement cancel functionality on a ViewModel dialog - Hook in to ASP.NET security
