From: donald nicklas Subject: [Boston-voice-users] September 9 Meeting Announcement Date: Mon, 25 Aug 2008 18:25:17 +0000 A quick reminder- our regular meeting is in two weeks: When: Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 7:30 pm Where: MIT, Room 2-135 (directions below) Topic: Putting Utter Command to the Test Come to the next Boston voice user meeting armed with the computer tasks that are trickiest to carry out with speech recognition, including particular Web sites and Web applications. Kimberly Patch of Redstart Systems will demonstrate the most efficient ways to carry out these tasks using NaturallySpeaking and Utter Command. She'll also demonstrate some strategies that will save you time and go easy on your voice. Tired of saying page down all the time? Tired of clicking through file lists to find documents and folders? Tired of spelling Excel formulas? You don't have to be. Utter Command is a speech recognition interface that works with the Dragon NaturallySpeaking Pro speech engine. It works across all programs and allows you to use far fewer commands to carry out computing tasks than NaturallySpeaking alone. Boston Voice Users meets at MIT from 7:30 p.m. until approximately 9:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. -------------------------------------------- Don Nicklas Boston Voice Users http://www.bostonvoiceusers.org/ -------------------------------------------- Directions to room: Go in the main door of MIT, at 77 Mass.
