From: arnold bilansky Subject: [Dotnetlearn] Monday meeting plus Date: Thursday, January 17, 2008 7:55:18 AM Here is a heads up on the next three DotNETLearn user group meetings. All the sessions are at Microsoft, 201 Jones Rd., Waltham MA, starting at 7PM. Expect something extra in the way of door-prizes. January 21 Agenda For people with little background in ADO.NET, Rick Levin gives us an ADO.NET to help prepare us for Adam Machanic's session in February. A more detailed description follows in the next day or two. February 18 Agenda: Adam Machanic on ADO.NET and SQL Server 2005: A Data-Driven Power Couple Forget LINQ to SQL and EDM (at least, for now). ADO.NET and SQL Server 2005 can interact more seamlessly than just about any other combination of DBMS and data access framework, even without these new technologies. Working together, the two allow for easy development of a wide variety of flexible, high-performance database-centric applications. In this session you'll learn to use such features as Query Notifications, MARS, asynchronous commands and bulk copy. These features provide a powerful foundation for creating heavily data-driven applications. March 17 Agenda: Andrew Novick on great new features in Visual Studio 2008. More details on this session in a future announcement. _______________________________________________ Dotnetlearn mailing list Dotnetlearn@blu.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/dotnetlearn
