From: Bill Sconce Subject: [Python-talk] PySIG next week - Hands-on night Date: Wednesday, August 16, 2006 18:45:50 No, no, not that kind of hands-on. :) Hands-on as in "let's see how this stuff works, heh heh". Alex Hewitt will show us how EASY Macs are to use. Specifically, how to install the universal binaries and be up and running with WxPython - and Python itself! - on the Mac. Yours truly will demonstrate everything you need to know, er, everything he can learn between now and then, about byte-code disassambly and assembly. Yes, Python byte code. (Is there any other kind?) And at least two ways, maybe three, to generate PDFs using nothing but Python code. (And a couple of "import" statements.) Anyone else have a handy Python app or area of expertise which they'd share in a 5-to-15 minute chunk of the evening? Be there or be square! Usual place, the Amoskeag Business Incubator, in Manchester, Usual time, 7:00 P.M. 4th Thursday. Hey, that's next Thursday! I'd better get started studying! (You knew it was next Thursday, didn't you Alex?) Request for cookies is in to the Operations Department (Janet). A reminder announcement to follow on Monday, when the cookies are confirmed.
