From: Dan Jacobs Subject: WebTech meeting Tues 9/20 - Aspect-Oriented Programming, Group Elections Date: Thu, 15 Sep 2005 03:14:49 +0000 Hi everyone, The students are back in school, the Canada geese are packing their bags (or whatever they've got) for vacation, and the WebTech group is gearing up for the Autumn. This month our meeting will be on Tuesday the 20th, and we'll be featuring an all-around discussion on Aspect-Oriented Programming, led by Shawn Becker PhD, co-founder of Sierra Vista Group. If you're looking to learn more about AOP, looking to share your experiences and knowledge, or just looking to enjoy the company of some of the best folks in our business for a couple of hours, please plan to come! The precise agenda for the AOP discussion is still up in the air, so there's still a chance for ideas about what you'd really like to discuss or hear discussed. Your input really is important, so send your ideas to me and I'll forward them to Shawn. We'll also be holding group elections, so don't miss your chance to run for office (Secretary and Treasurer are particularly interesting, because we don't take minutes and we have no income or expenses :-) ). We particularly need someone willing to revamp the pitiful website I threw together with our then-co-chair in 20 minutes about 9 years ago (and have maintained with the same enthusiasm I devote to my dishwasher), and any kind of help lining up speakers for interesting topics would be terrific! I hope to see you there! -- Dan Jacobs, Chairman (for far too long!) BTW, the first meeting of bostonEDGE.org was a terrific success! It was great to see so many folks from WebTech there, as well as a lot of new faces. Thanks to everyone who helped out in any way!
