This combination makes the Windows Mobile platform desirable to a number of users and enterprises for providing highly mobile applications. For developers, creating applications for this platform provides a number of challenges. Fortunately, there are a number of solutions that can address these needs. In this presentation, you will learn about the challenges faced in occasionally-connected computing for Windows Mobile devices, and the solutions available. This presentation will cover connectivity strategies, data storage options and code implementations using the .NET Compact Framework and Visual Studio.NET 2003. The presentation will also take a look at the future of Windows Mobile development with the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 and Whidbey. Don Sorcinelli has been involved with planning, developing and deploying enterprise applications for over 15 years. His involvement in these processes expanded to include the PDA platforms starting in the late 1990s. Don also regularly presents on mobility topics at both regional and national Pocket PC, Smartphone and PDA meetings and conferences. Don is a frequent writer for both online and trade publications, and is a frequent contributor to Pocket PC Magazine and Austrailian PC Magazine. Don was awarded Most Valuable Professional status for Windows Mobile Devices by Microsoft Corporation in January 2004 for his work with the Windows Mobile user and developer communities.
