Please note those of you who are also following along in the Learning Visual Basic.NET book there is no Operator Overloading chapter, this feature only available in C#. Chapter 12 will probably be covered in more detail than the others. Main Meeting Agenda: Introduction to Object Oriented Programming Design speaker: Bob Tattersall Description: .NET has several fully capable Object Oriented languages. This talk is geared towards developers who are learning to program in .NET but have no OO design experience. The backbone of Object Oriented Programming: polymorphism, inheritance, and encapsulation will be defined and discussed as well as OO terms such as class, object, constructor, overloaded method, and overriden method. Basic design considerations, for example: how to recognize objects, methods, and properties in a problem statement; "is-a" relationships; and scoping will also be discussed. Mr. Tattersall has more than 20 years of development experience using a variety of languages, including C#, VB and C++. He attended Northeastern University and completed a BSCS at Daniel Webster College in Nashua NH. He has held positions as a Sr. Software Engineer at BrassRing and Compaq, and Technical Project Leader at Compaq.
