SEM or Search Engine Marketing is, many feel, the
correct term for the "art" of bringing search
engine traffic to your Website.

At our April meeting, James Colborn, Account
Director for Inceptor, Inc. of Boston, will
share with us the fundamentals of a SEM campaign
based on paid search (aka, pay-per-click or PPC).

James has worked in the search engine space for
5+ years and has worked with many of the different
types of search (PPC, Paid Inclusion, and Organic)
for clients such as Best Buy, British Airways,
Thomas Cook Thomas Register, and the National
Education Association.

James is very active contributor to the search
industry and has spoken at conferences such as
"Search Engine Strategies" in both the US and UK
and also writes for Pay Per Click Analyst (PPCA)
and the Chartered Institute of Marketing's
"What's New In Marketing" (WNIM).

James will discuss:

-  developing rational objectives for a campaign

-  researching keywords and other important
aspects of campaign development

-  running a paid search campaign (don't run
through that month's budget by 6 a.m. on the 3rd
day)

-  measuring success
