Abstract: Breakthroughs in IT Measurement, Benchmarking, Scorecards, Catalogs, and Communication A look at advancements in IT measurement, benchmarking, scorecards, catalogs, and value communication: What you need to do to run your Information Technology organizations like a business! The "business of IT" is in the limelight. The economic, regulatory, and geopolitical changes of the past three years have made businesses rethink everything from their IT cost structure, to their service delivery models, to the value of software to their enterprise. These pressures have driven IT leaders to implement breakthrough ideas that have resulted in a focus on new (and more important) measures of IT performance, new methods for making software development agile and adaptive, and new techniques for maintaining communication and business alignment through the implementation of powerful and expressive product/service catalog structures and communication techniques. Those that have embraced these new methods and techniques now benefit from full IT transparency and a new enterprise view of the IT software portfolio as a critical business asset.
