Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2003 11:00:23 -0400 (EDT) From: Nejug President Subject: September Meeting Announcement This message is going out to all Nejug members... After a long summer break, it is time once again to start thinking about the Nejug. The next Nejug meeting will be held at the Sun Microsystems Burlington Campus (our usual spot) on Thursday, September 18th at 6:00pm, where Dan Jacobs, president of the ModelObject Group, will be talking to us about Design Patterns for Template-based applications. To register for the meeting and find out more details about the meeting, please go to http://www.nejug.org/next.jsp. Directions can also be found from this page as well. We also have several boxes of books to give away during the raffle from Addison-Wesley. And, as usual, Apex Consulting Group will be providing the free pizza and water for the meeting. Lastly, each quarter, the Executive Committee of the Java Community Process (JCP) get together for a face-to-face meeting to discuss the state of the community and some of the technologies that are being created within the JCP. This year the meetings are being held at the Sun Campus in Burlington. The Nejug has been asked to participate in this process on the evening of September 30th at 6pm in our usual room. The JCP Executive Committee would like the opportunity to provide an overview of the JCP and how it works, and also get direct feedback from the Nejug community. Also, the committee has indicated to me that they are in the middle of the review period for JSR 215 - the new process change JSR that the EC members are the Expert Group for. They would very much like to get feedback from the Nejug members and also input on the changes to the process that they are suggesting. I will send out another registration announcement once the registration for the regular September 18th meeting is closed, allowing members to register for the special September 30th JCP meeting. I will also setup a special page on the website for this meeting. I hope you enjoyed your summer. See you at the meeting!
