Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2003 11:50:36 -0500 From: Rick Mohr Subject: [Boston-voice-users] Top 10 List for Speech Recognition Top 10 List for Speech Recognition Tuesday, December 9, 7:30 PM MIT, Room 2-142 (directions below) We're making our lists... Contribute to a pragmatic list of improvements we would like to see in speech recognition software. Rick Mohr and Kim Patch will coordinate the discussion, and we will vote on a top 10 list. The top 10 suggestions, along with a longer supplemental list, will later be presented in a letter to ScanSoft and IBM. We hope that this will lead to a dialogue between speech recognition software companies and the user community. The results will also be posted at www.bostonvoiceusers.com/top10/index.html No suggestion is too big or too small -- they can range from bug fixes in specific programs to broader interface issues. We are encouraging world-wide participation in compiling this list -- you can send your suggestions to top10@bostonvoiceusers.com, even if you can't make the meeting. Please try to be specific: The companies already know that users want better accuracy, but details like "whenever I say 'one', it types 'won'" inform them about the most common or most annoying mistakes. Also, if your suggestion pertains to a particular product, please include the name and version of the product.
