Date: Sun, 18 Aug 2002 19:43:08 -0400 (EDT) From: NEJUG President Subject: September Meeting Announcement This message is going out to all nejug members Well, now that summer is coming to a close (bummer!) it is time to start getting things back in place with the Nejug. I hope that you had a safe and fun summer. It sure seemed to go by quickly. The next Nejug meeting will be held at the Sun Microsystems Burlington Campus (our usual spot) on Thursday, September 12th at 6pm, where Ted Osborne, Independent Consultant and author of the books "J2EE Performance Testing" and "Professional EJB" will be discussing EJB Design Pattern Performance. By now most of us are familiar with or have used EJB Design Patterns. However, we may not be familiar with the effect various design patterns have on overall application performance, or which patterns can be applied to increase performance. These are some of the topics that Ted will be discussing at the next meeting. For more information about the meeting and to register, please go to http://www.nejug.org/next.htm. Please remember that you must be on the meeting registration list to attend the meeting. Directions for the meeting can be found on the web site by going to http://www.nejug.org/directions_sun.htm. Also, as you may remember while I was out at JavaOne I was able to line up Kada Systems to speak to the group about the step-by-step process for developing Java applications on the Palm. Unfortunately, after 2 months of attempts to contact them with no reply, I am putting out a request to the Nejug member community to see if any of you have experience in this area and would like to present this great topic to the group. If you are interested, please send me an email at nejug@apexcgi.com. Hope to see you at the meeting!
