Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 08:54:24 -0400 From: Robert Anderson Subject: ACM/SLUG Linux installfest, this Sunday 9/29 at UNH! The UNH student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), in conjunction with the Seacoast Linux User's Group (SLUG), will be holding a Linux installfest this Sunday, September 29, at UNH. If you're interested in getting Linux installed on your computer, bring it by and we will have several experienced users and admins to help you get it installed and running. And if you're an experienced user or admin yourself, please come by and help out new members of the GNU/Linux community. The installfest will be held in Morse Hall, Room 301, starting at 11 AM this Sunday, September 29. It will probably continue throughout the afternoon. For directions to the Durham campus, see the following web site: http://q.sr.unh.edu/morse/ Stuff you'll want to bring: - Your complete computer or laptop (of course) - Any manuals for the hardware you have - Paper and pen to take notes Power strips and extra network cables will probably be of help, too. There will be several copies of various linux distributions to install from, but depending on the number of people who show up, you might not be able to bring home a free copy. The ACM will be accepting voluntary donations to help us raise funds. $5 is the suggested donation. Thanks and we hope to see you there!
