1) Win2K Server successor may be delayed until mid-2003
According to a bulletin from InfoWorld, the .NET Server family
may now be delayed until mid-2003.  Details and links in the yellow box

2) IIS Server security presentation and tool kit now available
IIS has been taking some recent heat on security issues.
Microsoft's Thom Robbins gave a terrific presentation on IIS security
and the new Server Security Tool kit.  We now have his PowerPoint file on
our web site.
Not exactly optional reading.

Worth noting:  The new IIS server releases will ship completely locked
down
(and not functional) as opposed to working out of the box, but being less
secure.

3) Topics for our Wednesday May-1 Win2K Server User group meeting
 *          A quick update on the evolution and migration issues of
    Pocket PC 2002 (from a happy Palm User!)
 *   ISA Server:  A very capable Security/Proxy Server/Firewall/Web
    Caching product (and you thought that Vega-Matic was versatile!)  ISA
    Server has received very little promotion but this is a profoundly
    interesting product.

"portal."  Browse the site to get information on a number of local user
groups, including a calendar indicating when each group typically meets
in a
given month.  Links are provided to the individual groups' web sites.
Although many of the user groups are Microsoft-centric, there are also a
number of non-Microsoft groups, including Palm, Macintosh, Lotus, and
more.
