As is the standard for most all user groups, membership is free. Just come to the meetings to learn about security and get some free pizza as well. The group's focus will be computer-related security. We will talk and present on virus protection, firewalls, e-mail safety, lockdowns, hack attacks, encryption, home security, corporate security, PKI, SSL, VPNs, SmartCards, biometrics and more. This has been a very popular topic whenever I have brought it up at my Exchange Server User Group meetings. The meetings will be designed for those that implement or want to learn about security, whether at work or at home. The group will not be biased toward any one vendor. Its focus is on security, not specifically Vendor M security or Vendor L security or Vendor X security. [The group's meetings will take place at Vendor M's facilities in Waltham, but M understands and agrees that this group will advocate other systems in addition to their own, and that we will often point out weaknesses in M's products.] The first meeting will not occur until September, but I would like to begin my official membership drive now. Therefore, please feel free to spread the word about this group and have people sign up for the mailing list on our website (http://www.neisug.com/lists). It's also possible that I will have a mid-summer security workshop if the interest is there. The group's Website is at http://www.neisug.com. In addition to signup and meeting information, there is also a section with some cool online utilities to do real-time testing of the computer from which you're working, and a sponsors page with links to those that support us. [Let me know if your company is interested in supporting the group. Donations will never be turned away!] Looking forward to hearing your feedback. Yours, Brad Dinerman ====================================== 3) Boston User Groups, Inc. BostonUserGroups.com (http://www.BostonUserGroups.com) is our user group web "portal."
