The world of corporate and broadcast video production has migrated from the "heavy iron" hardware stage to desktop video. A number of career experts in video will present their life experiences and explain how the desktop platform is changing both their careers and the economics of an entire industry. Much of this content can now live on a LAN so this has relevance for Corporate IT Managers and Corporate Communications Groups as well as traditional video users. We will also have a special surprise presentation at the end... Details, new directions, more at: http://www.windows2000boston.com/ ============================================== 2) Microsoft has moved to a new facility in Waltham. This month we are at the new location. Directions: http://www.microsoft.com/usa/offices/waltham.asp ============================================== 3) Email listserv changes and HUGE Mediaone.net domain change Our user group listserv now has over 2000 meeting notice subscribers and it is obvious that maintaining such a large list is becoming a formidable task. In the very near future, we will be re-configuring our listserv to allow subscriptions and unsubscribes via automatic email responses. We will be announcing the switchover in a week or so. ANOTHER REASON: If you are a Mediaone.net cable modem subscriber, system owner AT&T has just announced that all Mediaone.net email domains will be involuntarily switched to another domain during the month of February. Mediaone.net domain email forwarding will end on March-15th. Even if your are not a Mediaone.net subscriber, this will effect you as this means changing well over 100,000 email addresses. Subscribers may need to reprint business cards, change listservs, etc. We will have our new subscription mechanism in place by that time. More per AT&T Broadband: http://help.broadband.att.com/listfaqs.jsp?category_id=108&category_level=1 The other news is that the later-this-year change in Mediaone/Roadrunner/AT&T Broadband ownership to Comcast has drawn the attention of some knowledgeable writers in the press. There is no guarantee from AT&T/Comcast that still another email domain change may be required. Historically, Comcast has changed many terms of service and operational rules during acquisitions.
