Burlington Bldg. 01 This camp will provide you with in-depth knowledge on Web services and show you how to develop Web services using Java programming language and XML, the technologies of portable code and portable data respectively. The codecamp will be started with the introduction of fundamental concepts and characteristics of Web services which will be followed by the detailed explanation on how to implement, how to describe, how to register, how to discover, and how to invoke Web services. The emerging standards such as SOAP, WSDL, UDDI will be described in detail. In addition, the ebXML standard, which defines the framework for global electronic market place will be talked about in detail. Also the tools for building and deploying Web services will be discussed. The attendees will also learn how to use standard Java APIs, such as JAXM, for developing and deploying Web services and will have a chance to develop their own Web services using these APIs and tools written in Java. Prerequisites: Programming experience with Java programming language Experience using command-line tools such as JDK[tm] in either UNIX or Windows Understanding of basic concepts of XML, DTDs and W3C XML schema will be helpful.
