I was pretty impressed with the number of people who showed up. I meant to have everyone introduce themselves and try to have a Q&A session, but I made the mistake of having the raffle first, and from there, all was anarchy and chaos :) Anyway, it seems like last nights topic was of a lot of interest to all, and the speaker, Brian Waite of CSPI mentioned he had a really good time as well. So thanks to you all for making the meeting a success! Here's a list of upcoming MELBA (Nashua) events. These are already on the calendar at the GNHLUG website, so if you lose this e-mail, then look there! 23 May Rob Lembree of Metro Link will be discussing Universal Plug & Play, Mobile Computing, and other up and coming technologies. Rumor has it he might bring a Transmeta Web Pad which he's developing on for UP&P. 27 June Mark Komarinski of VA Linux will be discussing some of the various off-the-shelf hardware one can buy to secure their home LAN when connecting to the internet. (if there's time left, Mark may answer questions wrt SGML/XML for all those who have been playing this since his last talk ;) 25 July Ben Scott of NTI Systems will be discussing what every Linux new comer needs to know about connecting their system to the internet in a secure fashion ?? August Undecided at this point Meetings are supposed to be the 4th Wednesday of the month, however I'll be at SIGGRAPH that week. If we come up with great speaker and/topic perhaps Jeff Smith or Ben Scott can play Chief Penguin for the night. If not, and people wish to postpone the meeting to the following week, I'd be willing to give the same security presentation I delivered to the CentralLUG. It's up to you :) And again, thanks a lot for such a great meeting last night! -- Seeya, Paul ---- It may look like I'm just sitting here doing nothing, but I'm really actively waiting for all my problems to go away. If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right! ********************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to majordomo@zk3.dec.com with the following text in the *body* (*not* the subject line) of the letter: unsubscribe gnhlug-announce **********************************************************
