BUSINESS ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB  -- Where "word of keystroke" begins

Please join us for chat this Thursday, May 17. We're going to continue our
series of experiments with voice applications over the Internet. This week
we'll try Paltalk. If you would like to participate, first go to
www.paltalk.com, download their software, and register. Then, on the day of
the chat, open your paltalk application (from the icon on your desktop),
click on Groups, select Business and Finance, then select Business on the
Web. That's where we'll be. You can type in the box and/or hold down CONTROL
and talk into your microphone. (NB -- the app. does not work with
Macintosh).

As a backup, we'll use a text chat room at Sitescape that you can connect to
from www.samizdat.com/chat-intro.html If you have any difficulty with
Paltalk, please go to the Sitescape room, or call me at 617-469-2269, or
email me at seltzer@samizdat.com

The more of you join in the better. We want to test this out and explore the
business opportunities related to it -- distance ed, customer service etc.
We'd like to push the limits in terms of the number of simultaneous users it
can handle from a technical point of view, and also from the human
perspective of managing the conversation.

These chat sessions take place Thursdays 12 noon-1 PM (US
Eastern Daylight Time = GMT -4).
