Date: Fri, 16 Mar 2001 08:23:12 -0500 From: Chair Subject: March 20th FrontPage meeting FrontPage meeting: Tuesday, March 20th at 6:30PM The Art and Science of Sub-Webs OK, you can build a Web site with Microsoft FrontPage. Can you build and deploy a "Sub-web?" Nested sub webs? Do you know what they are and how they function? Join us Tuesday evening as Robert Wilson from Hanscom Air Force Base demonstrates the art and science of "All things Sub Web." Hanscom deploys what is probably the largest FrontPage web known, for their many operations. They regularly create and deploy sub webs for their various departments and divisions. Also, if time permits, the return of the ever popular "Open Microphone" segment where some lucky contestant will get to demonstrate their handi-work to the assembled members, for review and comment. Volunteers? Are you up to being edited? If so contact the Chair and reserve your place in history, and receive valuable feedback. E-mail: Chair@frontpageboston.com No volunteers? No problem. All in attendance will be eligible for the Draft! +++++ +++++ +++++ +++++ Also, in an effort to cross promote the other User Groups in the Boston area, please read the following on a special series being presented by the Boston Area Exchange Server group. For more information on this and other area groups please visit: BostonUserGroups.com. +++++ +++++ +++++ +++++ Exchange Server meeting: Thursday, March 22nd at 6:30PM "Put Your Site Out of Mind" Brad Dinerman, Chairman of the Boston Exchange Server group will be starting a series this month called "Back To The Technology" that will provide ongoing demonstrations installing, configuring and maintaining Exchange Server 2000. The presentations will be given without all the marketing wrapping. As usual, there is no charge to attend these meetings. At their March meeting (3/22), they will do a fresh installation of Exchange Server 2000 onto a system running Windows 2000 Server. Discussions will surround the affect that the installation has on Active Directory, how to configure email-enabled user accounts and how to conduct standard configuration. Differences between Exchange Server 5.5 and 2000 will be indicated. At upcoming meetings, they will probe deeper into Active Directory and more complex configuration tasks, as well as demonstrate how to perform a 5.5 to 2000 migration (gulp!) These presentations should be attended by anyone who administers Windows 2000 Server environments and/or Exchange Server. This is a "back to basics" presentation that will involve all members of the audience as well as those giving the presentation. +++++ +++++ +++++ +++++ Hope those interested can attend Brads meeting next Thursday the 22nd, and to see everyone at our regular FrontPage meeting next Tuesday, March 20th.
