Abstract: Ensuring Clients Achieve Superior Value in the Digital Economy If you agree that technology is changing at the speed of sound, you will probably agree that e-commerce is changing the way business is conducted around the world at the speed of light. The future impact to organizations should not be underestimated. This keynote speech will take you through EDS' journey in implementing quality improvement, the challenges faced, and the evolution of a global process improvement strategy, which is rapidly bringing about positive business impacts, and higher maturity levels, for both EDS and its clients. CMM based process improvement has long been recognized within EDS as the engine for increasing software developers' productivity, reducing software defects, and reducing time-to-market, which are keys to turning this vision into a reality. This keynote speech will take you through EDS' journey in implementing quality improvement, the challenges faced, and the evolution of a global process improvement strategy, which is rapidly bringing about positive business impacts, and higher maturity levels, for both EDS and its clients. Biography: Unmesh Gundewar is currently a Sr. Consultant for EMC Corporation. Before joining EMC, Unmesh worked as the Maturity Models Program Manager for EDS Wireless Resource Center (WRC), where he headed the Software Engineering Process Group in Maynard, Massachusetts, and led the CMM initiative at the Northeast Solution Center level. For over 20 years, he has been involved in developing and improving software engineering processes, establishing Metrics Programs, and has provided project management services worldwide. Mr. Gundewar has published numerous papers for both the SEPG and PMI conferences. He is a frequent speaker at SEPG, at Project Management Conferences, at the local chapters of PMI, and at SPIN (Software Process Improvement Networks). Mr. Gundewar has been a member of the Project Management Institute for over ten years. Mr. Gundewar holds a Civil Engineering degree from Poona University, Poona, India, and a Masters in Construction Management from the University of Florida. He also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. About the Roundtables: Roundtables are focused group or "birds-of-a-feather" discussions, with a facilitator, to stimulate and moderate discussion.
