      Topic: The Building Blocks of Information Security

      With the advent of the wild-wild-web most believe that
      information security is a technological issue that can be
      readily addressed and solved.  To an extent they are correct
      in that the more common cause of failure (and repair) is a
      technology issue.  However, these failures commonly are the
      result of other factors and are destined to be repeated
      unless these other factors are corrected.  To build and
      maintain an effective Information Security program it is
      imperative that management has an understanding of the scope
      and depth of the elements relating to information security.

      Speaker: Bob Johnston, CISSP

      Bob has over 30 years of experience in Systems Operations,
      Technology Management, Application Design and Strategic
      Planning with more than 25 years focusing upon Information
      Security.  He has served as an expert witness in the Federal
      Courts and has conducted several computer forensic
      investigations.  He is a Certified Information Systems
      Security Professional and has spoken at conferences
      throughout the US, Canada and the Pacific Rim.  Active in
      several professional associations, he is the Certification
      Director for the New England Chapter of ISSA

      Development Corporation One Rogers Street Building (across
      from the Cambridge Galleria Mall). Free parking is available
      in the Lotus Employee One Rogers Street garage (entrance on
      First Street).

      There is an employee parking garage that is available at the
      meeting location. The entrance is located on First Street.
      Parking is NOT free at the Cambridge Side Galleria.
