Office XP, launched 5/31/01, is the newest version. In a joint
meeting with the Office User Group, Microsoft's Will Schoen, a
Technology Specialist at Microsoft, shows us the new features,
parses the available flavors and demonstrates improvements over
earlier versions. Bill also explains what's entailed in the OXP
registration wizard, that in the US subscriptions are only for
enterprise customers, and why we should spend $XXX to upgrade
from O97 or O2K. Come with your questions and Will will try to

Ave, Waltham, MA, which has Parking and has Wheelchair access.

Directions:
Take Route 95/128 to Exit 27A. Go south on Third Ave passing
between the northbound 95/128 and the Westin Hotel. Reaching
Third Ave requires a U-turn to the right from the northbound
95/128 exit or a "cross the overpass and turn right" from the
southbound 95/128 exit. From Third Ave, turn left onto Fourth
Ave immediately after the Westin. Go to end, turn right and
follow signs for Prospect Place. Bear right at the fork and
follow signs to Visitor Parking. Lobby is on second floor.

ScanSoft is an evolution of Xerox Imaging Systems, Visioneer,
Caere and other previously independent players, and specializes
in digital imaging software. Their line includes OmniPage, Pagis,
TextBridge, PaperPort and Kai's PhotoFactory. Sebastian Gard,
Product Manager for Paper Management, gives us an overview of
their product line, history and future strategy. Sebastian also
provides an in-depth demo of their PaperPort Deluxe S/W (which
includes a TextBridge OCR and photo editing) with two new scanners
- showing faster and easier conversion of paper to digital form.
