This month, on Monday July 16, we continue to survey and demonstrate some of the skills measured on the VB 6 certification exams. ---- Next Month --- We have a dynamite meeting on tap for August 20 by Microsoft's Russ Fustino. Best Practices for Upgrading VB 6.0 Projects to VB.NET This session will cover the best practices to upgrade Visual Basic 6.0 projects to Visual Basic.NET. First, it will introduce Visual Basic.NET, explaining the goals and new concepts. It will then discuss various upgrade options as well as the interoperability with Visual Basic 6.0 and Visual Basic.NET. In addition, it provides architectural guidance as well as programming recommendations, to allow developers to plan, design and develop Visual Basic.NET applications now or in the future. Finally, it will demonstrate how to take advantage of the new Visual Basic.NET features. Russ Fustino is a Microsoft Principal Technology Specialist and a Microsoft Certified Professional with over 20 years of software development experience. He has an expertise in developing Visual Basic and Visual InterDev solutions. Prior to Microsoft, Russ was a VB instructor, headed up a development department and created several client/server application and system software products. Russ' specialties include Visual Source Safe, team development methodologies, COM development with VB, XML, Biztalk and is a Subject Matter Expert for Devdays.
