        evaluating free text chat services for distance education

This weeks chat will be at

We will be evaluating several different free text chat services. Bob Zwick
has placed a few in the pull down list but, hopefully, participants will
have some more urls that we can check out. At WebShare we should be able to
use Bob's simple para chat (Java) and open other chat rooms side-by-side for
evaluations.

We are looking for the best free chat for Distance Education.
The basics:

1. Cross platform ( PC/Mac)
2. Tanscript saving (logging)
3. Participant profiling
4. Clickable URL links in the chat area
5. Sizable viewing and text
6. No inactivity time outs ( stability )
7. No registration or membership required

4. Page pushing
5. Whiteboard
