Date: Thu, 1 Feb 2001 21:43:47 -0800 (PST) From: NEJUG President Subject: February Nejug Meeting Announcement This message is going out to all Nejug Members. Just a reminder that the next Nejug meeting will be held on Thursday, February 15th at 6:00pm. Ted Neward, author of one of my favorite books Server-Based Java Programming, will be speaking to the group about Java vs. Microsoft .NET. Ted has promised to be objective in his discussion, and he tells me he promises to have a few surprises for the group. If you plan to attend the meeting and have not pre-registered, please register at http://www.nejug.org/registration.htm. Directions are posted on the web site via the February calendar page. Also, remember that the meetings, pizza, and membership in the Nejug are all free. We will be raffling off several books from Manning publishing this meeting, including several copies of Ted Newards book Server-Side Java Programming. Other titles include 3D Java, JavaServer Pages, Domino Development, and Swing. In other news, we have a confirmation from Dr. Greg Bollella to speak to the group about Real-Time Java in March, and a confirmation from Ken Arnold to speak to the group about Jini in May. It is both an honor and a privilage to have such distiguished Sun Microsystems Senior Engineers willing to talk to the group. Please see the Nejug web site Calendar section for more details on these meetings. I look forward to seeing you at the next Nejug meeting!
