From: "Steven Allen" Subject: Boston Windows User Group February 26 Meeting Date: Monday, February 19, 2001 12:27 PM Monday, February 26, 2001 ------------------------ Windows Millennium Edition ========================== Boston Windows User Group ------------------------- 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Speaker at 8:00 p.m. --------------------- Steve Allen shows us what's new in the latest and last version of the Win9x series. Apart from the usual hype, there are some definite advantages in using WinME, which is now standard in new machines. These include the new Help and Support system which, among other capabilities, allows restoration of the machine state to that at an earlier "check point". Steve also likes the Automatic Update feature but warns that, whereas WinME has the newest drivers, support for some older hardware has been dropped. If you would like to participate by demoing additional Me features, please contact Steve beforehand. Location: Microsoft's Multipurpose Room 1, 6th floor, 230 Third Ave, Waltham, MA, which has Parking and has Wheelchair access. Directions: Take Route 95/128 to Exit 27A. Go south on Third Ave passing between the northbound 95/128 and the Westin Hotel. Reaching Third Ave requires a U-turn to the right from the northbound 95/128 exit or a "cross the overpass and turn right" from the southbound 95/128 exit. From Third Ave, turn left onto Fourth Ave immediately after the Westin. Go to end, turn right and follow signs for Prospect Place. Bear right at the fork and follow signs to Visitor Parking. Lobby is on second floor.
