Our new User Group will be dedicated to building, maintaining and deploying enterprise applications without focusing on specific development languages, but rather, on specific enterprise application issues. We welcome users of all platforms and languages. At this special first meeting we will be presenting an overview of the pressing issues that address all Technology Managers when they are about to head down the path of "New Technology. Luna Systems is offering this opportunity for free, but due to high demand and limited space we must request that you RSVP as soon as possible with an email to seminars@lunasystems.com. Please include your name, your company name, email address and number of attendees. Pizza, beverages and door prizes will be provided. Here's what we'll be discussing at the kick-off meeting: - Let's talk about conversion! It's really a matter of WHEN not IF! - Let's talk about communication! How do you get all your applications, both new and old to work on the same network and communicate with each other? - Let's discuss teamwork! Your development staff is made up of New Technology and Legacy developers. How can you keep them all productive? How can they all work together on the same project? What does it cost to retrain them? - You have a large investment in the current application, not to mention complex business logic, is there anyway you can reuse this investment in your new applications and maximize a return on your investment? - Worried about the cost of new technology? How do you extend the Life Cycle of the "New Technology" without worrying about long-term costs like Upgrades and Maintenance? What about hardware and infrastructure upgrades? - Once you implement the "New Technology", how can you be sure it will grow with your company, without suffering unacceptable performance loss? - How can you reduce the time from conception of "New Technology" to deployment, when deploying a new Application to all the desktops in your organization can take days, weeks of even months? - Most new development projects never reach completion, some experts say that as few as 10% of all new development projects will ever be used by an end user. How can you be sure that your project will be different? - Even if everything goes perfectly throughout your design, development and deployment phases. You build in all the right infrastructure and reliability. You test and test your application until it is rock solid. You have done everything you can to guarantee success, but in today's environment of hackers, corporate espionage and terrorism, how can you be sure your company's information and applications won't be the next victim? Get the answers to these and all your questions at the kickoff meeting, Tuesday, December 11, 2001. It all starts with a pizza social at 6:00 pm at the Luna Systems Headquarters in North Andover, MA.
