Ralph Borcherds, MRB Consulting The Future: Garnet is one of the topics Jeff Calow will cover. "Garnet is a collection of projects that bring a new Web development model to Domino. Today with R5, we've got a way of developing Web applications using Notes?you build on a Notes application with some embedded Web stuff. And we have an engine called the Web engine that takes that and translates it into HTML and does all the processing for you. But customers want to have more control over the HTML that's generated. They want the data living in Domino, but they want that control. So Garnet is a standards-based approach to allowing you to develop Web applications. That's the overall project scope?what it's all about. Specifically, Garnet has four prongs: support for Java Server Pages [JSPs] and servlets, a custom tag library, template-style applications, and integration with third-party development tools." - Jeff Calow on the RNext Technologies, Notes.net, June 2001 Domino for the Web - NOW!: Ever wonder how to make a cookie?
